4 Keys to Success this School Year

We struggle because while on one hand we are using sheer willpower to TRY to achieve our goals, we are telling ourselves, in our mind, according to the image of ourselves we hold, that it might not ACTUALLY work, that we are not capable.

So #1:
The truth – the real truth – is that you are more than enough and are capable of realizing your dreams and FULL potential. I don’t care what you think of yourself right now, what I am telling you is the truth.
You were created and engineered for success and your brain has, built-in, a success mechanism that you just need to learn and practice in order to unleash fully and consistently.
Accept that.
Create a clear picture of the person you want to be this school year, of what you will achieve because has proven that your brain doesn’t distinguish between imagination and reality; instead, it acts based on the information you send it through your thoughts.
Take the lesson from your past failures – dig deep to find the lessons, without blame or shame, and then FORGET the failure.
Constantly replaying your failures in your mind is an act of self-destruction – you are literally telling your brain and your environment what to reproduce and perpetuate going forward. Failure is part of the process for ALL successful people, please accept that you are no different and you must experience the failure – IF you wish to be successful!

“Forget mistakes. Forget failure. Forget everything except what you’re going to do now and do it.”

– Will Durant
What habits do you need to purge? Is it Procrastination?
Do you manage your time poorly? Is your energy low? Are your goals just not clear enough, or you do not want them badly enough? THERE IS A SOLUTION FOR ALL OF THAT! Because once you REALLY want it, and you are clear on WHY – it will give you so much power. But listen … pro tip here – do not wait for motivation! When its up you work, when it’s down you don’t – your results will be inconsistent.
You know what’s WAY better than motivation?
You need to build a routine and replace loser habits with winning habits and CLEAR GOALS so that your brain’s success mechanism can kick in to put your success this school year on AUTO PILOT.
“People are like bicycles. They can keep balance only as long as they keep moving.”
– Albert Einstein
Procrastination steals dreams but also costs parents and students just like you, a lot of money in the college admissions process. Do not PROCRASTINATE if you need help in a certain subject area, wait until it’s too late and then have poor grades on your transcript compromise your chances. Do NOT procrastinate on taking action on a great idea for a club, or a service project – this might be the edge you need to stand out for scholarships. Face it, and ACT QUICKLY – Immediately. The habit of execution is one of the most powerful ones you can build for your life and career!
Parents – sometimes we don’t know what we don’t know, and if you are like me you expect your child to be self-sufficient – but with a college admissions process with so many moving parts and so much at stake, professional help is a very smart and necessary investment if your child is applying to competitive universities and needs a scholarship, or even just to be sure that you have evaluated all the options and found the right fit program and environment.
